ARTIST STATEMENT

I have been a Photocloset member for 12 years; almost as long as I have been in Seattle.  I attended Bennington College in Vermont, traveled across the country after graduation, and now live in West Seattle with two cats, one dog, and a husband.
I enjoy using old fashioned cameras in settings with natural light, both outdoors and indoors.  I print primarily in black and white, although I have done some experimentation with toners and alternative processes.  I photograph a variety of subjects; landscapes, portraits, abandoned structures.  A common thread between them all is that I am always drawn to texture, and how natural lighting highlights it.
